With the launch of Blade.org in February 2006, eight companies marked a crucial point in the evolution of the blade server ecosystem by coming together for one purpose -- to help IT professionals contribute to their business by accelerating the availability and variety of Blade server solutions.

Today, we have over 80 companies committed to the mission of Blade.org. In about two years we have become the industry's comprehensive source for Blade-based solutions and information.  By providing an open and collaborative environment, Blade.org continues to put the collective ingenuity of its members to work on challenges and opportunities alike within the blade server ecosystem.

Our Blade.org technical community has been working together, and the time is right for us to share with you our technology vision and the trends and directions we see in future blade systems. To this end, Blade.org will host its' first Blade.org Technology Symposium in New York City, June 19, 2008. For an entire day, we will bring together the finest senior technologists and technical executives from leading IT companies and end users, who will discuss their unique and expert perspectives on the technologies that will shape the future blade ecosystem.

Attendees will learn about the top trends and technologies from the experts who are looking far into the next decade. You'll hear how your future of blade systems and data centers will be changed by the latest breakthroughs in virtualization, energy efficiency, networking, microprocessors, storage and more. And you'll hear from end users about the issues and pain points they are relying on the blade community to resolve in the upcoming years.

If you are a CTO, CIO or IT professional, this symposium is for you. Take this opportunity to join APC, Brocade, Intel, NetApp, VMware, and other Blade.org members, and learn first hand about the technology that will help you shape and future-proof your data center.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Tom Bradicich, Ph.D.
Chairman, Technical Committee
Blade.org
IBM Fellow, and Vice President, Systems Technology, IBM Rack, Blade, and x86 Servers
